This is why I don't play tournaments
I got dealt some good cards: AQo, AJo were two of my first three hands and both paid off. My chip position was 1.5 average for the remaining players, and then:

If this happened in a cash game, I'd just be buying nore chips, and hoping ZyZYFare sticks around and keeps playing like that (FWIW I'm 65% on the flop, and 80% on the turn). In a tournament, is this just similar bad luck, or should I have folded before the flop, or folded to the all-in on the flop?

I then followed it up with:

Which, again, I'd be happy with in a cash game, but should I have played it differently here?

For those interested, then final chips disappeared in a horrible, tilt-induced, all-in. Cash game, I just rebuy, but I know my small-stack tourney play is way off, partly because a small stack means that I've just lost a big hand, and I find that harder to deal with in a tournament.

Maybe I should just stick with what I know, but OTOH, what am I going to do with the PPs if not freerolls (above tournament was a paid entry btw).

Current Mood: pensive
